Another brown recluse! How fun and exciting it is to have venomous spiders in your house! Not just in the kitchen, but in the spare bedroom too, beneath the laundry basket! The room that is full of piles of clothing waiting for me to sort them!
At least this one was smaller.

eweweweewwwwww so scary.
Are you sure it is (or they were) a brown recluse? There is a common, non-venomous spider around these parts that look similar. You saw this spider? If that is it, I found this for you: "Brown recluse spiders cannot bite humans without some form of counterpressure. This pressure usually occurs when they are trapped against the skin". So I guess if you are ginger, you don't have a lot to worry about.
And I said "ginger", not Ginger, so Ginger, you still have to be ginger. You are not safe just because you are Ginger.
pw, I am 100% sure about the first one... didn't get as good a look as the second one as it was on the floor rather than a counter, so I'll say I'm just 85% sure that it was a brown recluse.
I read the same thing about the counterpressure, read that most people get bitten putting on clothes that have the spider in them. In fact after I killed the first one I was talking to my mom and she told me that my grandpa had just gotten bitten by one... he put on his pants and got bit on the stomach.
I'm sorry about the critters but if I ever want to sleep again I need to stop reading about them!
Dang! I thought I was safe for a moment. :) haha
Blech! Eeek! That gives me the heebie jeebies. My dad killed a black widow in our garage the other day. It's no wonder spiders scare the crap out of me!
ew... we have them, too. Creeeepy!!!
